Failure is Not an Option! - Positive Thinking in Today's Negative World

I wanted to write a blog about this subject for quite a while now. Partly because of the negative publicity that is going on in the media and again for all of the agents that just got into this field in 2001-2003 when the market was hot.

Now, some of these same agents who were dancing in the street because they were closing deals left and right each day are now having to WORK for a living. So, instead of dusting themselves off and getting back in the game they would rather spend time with the other non-producing agents standing around the water cooler bellyaching because business for some is slow. I can't really have compassion for these people. They have to take responsibility for their actions (or lack thereof) on a daily basis.

There are other high-volume producing agents out there that are continually busy every day, either because they have a tight business plan that they follow religiously, and a referral program to keep the prospect leads coming in. If you think they became successful by just sitting around waiting for the phone to ring...I can tell you that they didn't. Even some of you who are reading this know that in order to be successful in this business (or any other) you need to have a "champion" mindset. That means never giving up! You take anybody who is incredibly wealthy and they will tell you, story after story of all the sacrifices they made over the years so that they could enjoy the lifestyle they have today. So, if you wanna be a "champion" you have to act like one, you need to breathe like one, you need to associate yourself with other "champions" that have the same mental mindset. Stay away from the "nay-sayers" and the "woe is me" types! These people gave up on their dream...they accepted failure but you don't have to.

Ask yourself, what is keeping me from becoming better at what I do? What am I afraid to do that others seem to be able to do quite readily? Face your fears and learn to live your dreams. By changing your mindset into one of positive thinking you will see a whole new world of opportunities open up. You will no longer be shackled to those self-imposed restrictions you put on yourself. You'll start thinking outside the box. You'll learn more great tips, ideas, and suggestions from others who share your positive drive and ambition. Think of positive thinking as your diet ok...if you are eating garbage high in calories, fats, low nutritional values...your body is going to react poorly. You may feel sluggish, tired, and have a lazy, unhealthy attitude. But, if you had chosen to eat "good" foods that are high in protein and have a higher nutritional value, my guess is that you would be feeling much more energy than ever and you will develop an optimistic view of your life and those around you. But when you spend time with the "Debbie Downers" out there and continue to fill your mind with all this negative crap they spin in the papers, on radio, and from your colleagues...it takes away your spirit. It takes away your drive. You then develop this "why try" attitude which in itself is adharantly dangerous.

Be positive and open your mind to new opportunities. Develop and fuel your inner desires for greatness. Recognize that all any struggles you are dealing with are only temporary. Any failures you experienced are in your past. Today is a new day - It is yours to make as you see fit. Will you choose to have a "failure is not an option" mindset? or, will you choose to continue to meander along for the rest of your days?

Life becomes what you make it!
